How to Use Nipple Covers: Apply, Remove and Care

Sep 6, 2025

Use nipple covers according to the exact product instructions. The basic steps are choosing the right coverage, preparing clean and dry skin, positioning the covers and checking them under your outfit. Adhesive, adhesive-free and disposable styles have different requirements.

Choose the type before applying

Sticky silicone covers use adhesive. Grippy covers have no adhesive and work best under snug-fitting clothing. Disposable pasties are intended for single use. Standard nipple covers provide coverage, not lift or breast support.

Prepare and position

Use on appropriate clean, dry, intact skin as directed. Do not add powder, lotion, oil or extra glue where adhesive needs contact. Center the cover over the area you want concealed and gently smooth the edges. Do not pull the breast upward with a standard cover as if it were lift tape.

Check your clothing

Try the full outfit and check the neckline, edges and shade from the front and sides. Sit, walk and reach to assess placement. Grippy requires close garment contact; a loose top may not support it. Lighting and fabric affect visibility, so no style is invisible under every garment.

Know the wear limits

Follow the stated intended use and wear time. Do not assume a cover is suitable for swimming, heavy sweating or sleeping. Skin tolerance varies; stop use if irritation occurs. A brief trial does not guarantee all-day hold or reaction-free use.

Remove and care as directed

Remove adhesive covers gently while supporting the skin and follow any product-specific removal instructions. Wash only products labeled reusable, let them dry fully and store them in their supplied pouch or protective packaging. Discard single-use products after wear.

When to replace

There is no universal 20- or 30-wear lifespan. Check for damage, misshapen edges and reduced hold before wearing. Cleaning can remove residue but does not repair damaged adhesive; do not apply household glue to extend use.
